IJYI is working with New Suffolk College to provide work experience placements for three T-Level students. Having spent time in the IJYI office before Christmas, they recently shared creative presentations about topics that interest and inspire them before starting six weeks of work experience in February.
The students will join the IJYI development team to deliver a customer-sponsored project for our partner ITAL (https://italgroup.tech/). This will focus on addressing the problems associated with graffiti on the railway network, and the students will work with our data and software development specialists to identify opportunities for proactive, technology-led prevention. This will include working on an end-to-end prototype as a proof of concept.
IJYI has a successful track record of helping students forge careers in the technology industry. Last year, for example, Christian Wranek rejoined IJYI as a full-time member of our project management team, having first been with us six years previously when he completed a week of work experience, at age 16. IJYI CEO, Kev Linsell, said, “The IJYI team were really impressed with the students and the amazing facilities at the SNC Tech Campus, and we’re looking forward to seeing an enthusiastic mix of new ideas and perspectives. They’ll benefit from working on a real customer project, and the experience they gain will be practical and useful as they focus on career planning and potential next steps in their education.”
